Eccles’ Car Care Clinic
I wanted to take some time today to celebrate the success of Eccles Auto Service, a client of ours who recently put on an exciting event geared toward women and automobiles.
This past week, in addition to their Customer Appreciation Day, Eccles Auto Service of Dundas also hosted The Ladies Car Care Clinic which has the goal of reducing and eliminating the barriers women can face when maintaining or repairing their cars. Cars are often seen as a male-dominated field of expertise and it’s great to see such a forward-thinking group of people put on an event such as this.
From the news release:
Knowledge is power. Women need to understand their cars better so they don’t feel intimidated. A ladies car care clinic is the perfect tool to help women feel more comfortable about the importance of preventive maintenance and why it is necessary to keep their car in good running condition. Gone are the days that women depended on a man to look after their car maintenance; women are now taking responsibility for their own vehicle maintenance. This is a FREE, fun informative ladies day out, to learn about maintenance of their vehicle.
The event was hosted by well-known CASCAR driver and Canadian TV personality, Kelly Williams. A second special guest was also present: Brad Martin, from Team Canada’s Olympic snowboarding team. Free BBQ and a free car wash were included for all customers who attended. In all, the event had a great turnout and many happy faces were seen.
A big thank you from soma goes out to everyone involved with the event and in the efforts of Eccles Auto Service for reducing barriers for women in the automotive industry. We are very much looking forward to next year’s event!
